How to read the charts

One line per book
Each step is a new recorded price. Switch books on and off above; every chart follows.
Spread, total, moneyline
Spread is the home team's line. Total is the points line. Moneyline is the home team's win chance implied by its price, with the vig removed.
Opener to kickoff
Time runs left to right and ends at kickoff. The last day is stretched so late moves are easy to see.

Questions

What is NFL line movement?

Line movement is how a game's spread, total or moneyline changes between the opener, the first price a book posts, and the close, its last price before kickoff. A spread that goes from Ravens -6.5 to Ravens -2.5 has moved four points toward the Texans.

Why do NFL lines move?

Books change prices as bets come in and as news lands: injuries, quarterback changes, weather and lineup news. When one book moves, others often follow, which shows on the charts as several lines stepping together.

How often is this page updated?

Once a week, after the last game of the NFL week has finished. It always shows the most recent finished week.

Where does the data come from?

From the OddsLink historical odds API, the same history endpoints any Scale or Business customer can call. Each step on a chart is a recorded checkpoint price.

How far back does NFL line movement history go?

Older games carry opening and closing prices; recent ones carry the full recorded series. The Scale plan covers games that started in the last 2 years; Business covers everything recorded. The history coverage page lists how far back each sport goes.

Which books are on the charts?

DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Pinnacle and bet365 are on by default, and you can switch on any other book that priced the game. The API carries 46 books across sportsbooks, exchanges and prediction markets.

Can I build my own NFL line movement tracker?

Yes. List last week's finished NFL games, then request each game's recorded series, its openers and its closing lines. The history guide walks through each call.
