Odds API comparison

OddsLink vs The Odds API

Both return odds from many books as JSON. The difference is what a call costs. On OddsLink one call is one request, whatever comes back, and every plan sees all 46 books.

Where OddsLink is different

Pay per call, not per market

The Odds API spends credits for each market and region a call returns, so adding spreads and totals multiplies the cost. OddsLink counts the call. Ask for every market on a sport and it is still one request.

Exchanges and prediction markets built in

Betfair and the other exchanges, plus Kalshi and Polymarket, arrive in the same shape as a sportsbook line, with size typed as a posted limit, resting depth or a contract count.

Push and AI agents included

Stream changes over WebSocket from Growth, and let Claude, Cursor or Codex read odds through a hosted MCP server. The Odds API's own pages describe REST polling and list no MCP server.

Questions

Is OddsLink an alternative to The Odds API?

Yes. Both serve odds from many books as JSON over REST. OddsLink also carries exchanges and prediction markets in the same shape, streams over WebSocket, ships an MCP server, and bills one request per call.

How do the free plans compare?

OddsLink Free gives 1,000 requests a month with all 46 books. The Odds API Starter plan gives 500 credits a month, and one call can spend several credits depending on the markets and regions you ask for.

Does OddsLink carry Pinnacle?

Yes. Pinnacle is one of the 46 books, on every plan including Free, with moneylines, spreads, totals, alternate lines and period markets.

Can I build arbitrage, +EV or middles tools on OddsLink?

Yes. Every book comes back in one JSON shape on one fixture id, so comparing prices across sportsbooks, exchanges and prediction markets takes one request per sport. The free calculators at /tools/ cover no-vig prices and middles.
